Its my own creation. I got the cable idea from the "crocheted Aran Sweaters" book. I had to do some math. I knew I wanted 8 cable sections with 4 stitches (cable) with 2 st on each side=8 st. Plus 2 st for the middle sections. total 10 for whole pattern. Well, it takes 88 st to go around my big head...lol...so that is taken into consideration.

I failed to mention that I don't make hats the "normal" way. I start from the bottom up. That works better for me.

 

I am going to take that suggestion and write the pattern down. (im still learning how to properly do this. When I do, i'll share it)

I'm totally freaking out about how awesome your hat is. I just made my first "newsboy" cap using my own design and it looks, well, kind lobular and mushroomy, not in a good way. You must be genius to have designed such an awesome hat. From the bottom up, huh? Hmmm......Might have to try that sometime.
