Best sites for free patterns and tutorials

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am wondering what everyone thinks are the best sites or blogs for free patterns and tutorials. I am hoping to find patterns that are beginner level.

Feel free to list your own!

Thanks!

I highly recommend http://www.crochetcabana.com for written tutorials.

For video tutorials, I'd suggest http://www.nexstitch.com or http://www.anniesattic.com or even http://www.youtube.com

And, of course, for free crochet patterns, I'm rather partial to http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com

Crochet Pattern Central has a ton of stuff!

Thanks for the ideas. I didn't realize the person responsible for Crochet Pattern Central was here! I always go there first when looking. So thank you Rachel!! You rock! :clap

I'm actually writing a post for my blog and am researching sites. I already have Crochet Pattern Central listed on my favorite links, and of course, Crochetville.

I was just on this site today, and it was obvious I hadn't been there in a while. I couldn't find a link to free patterns. There was a pattern of the day but that was all I could find. :(

Could someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Annie's Attic doesn't have any free patterns, although they are affiliated with http://www.freepatterns.com -which has a whole bunch.

I originally mentioned Annie's Attic for their video tutorials. Will add a link later. (Maybe they moved their video tutorials to freepatterns.com too?)

Yes, Annie recently moved the video tutorials to Freepatterns. You have to click on the Crochet tab, then there's 3 lines of menu choices right below the tabs, Stitch guide is on the third (green) line. I looked all over for it the other day. :)

I have to say that CPC is by far the best for the sheer enormity of patterns and oh so many beautiful and easy ones too!! WTG Rachel!!!

Plus I have an address for a site that keeps all of annies patterns of the day in one spot - it totally rocks - if anyone wants it please PM me and i will find it and send it to ya!!

My favorite site is this one. It has more patterns than I could possbily look at. IF I had the time,:lol, I could spend hours and hours and hours on this site.

This site has an extensive list of links for instructions and tutorials.

You can do a search for crochet patterns, and you will find many sites that offer free patterns.... but some are very limited as to what they have. CPC is the best, but the link Scooby gave is great too... it will take you to a lot of different sites, and some are outdated or gone... but it gives you the tip to use the Wayback machine to see if they can link you to it.

CPC has helped me so many times, always my first stop for a patter. I also use nexstitch if I need to do a stitch I dont know how.I am a visual learner. But those 2 sites are the best I think.
