Hi everyone,

Does anyone want to post a pattern?

I'm starting to get caught up. The St Patrick's Day Table Topper is finally done! :)

I hope to have some new snowflakes on the blocking board this week amd get some pictures too.

Happy crocheting,

I would love to join this. I usually start making snowflakes in August when we go camping. Problem is I already am in a couple of other CAL's.

Common Shelby! :cheer You know you want to. :D

We're very easy to get along with here. No rules, no deadlines, just new snowflake patterns and a place to share them. I, for one, think it's great that we can all post a pattern we like.

We'd love to have you join us.

Happy crocheting, :crocheting

Hi all,

There seems to be a bit of confusion on the week number and weekly flake list, so I thought I'd pop in a revised list as I make it from the two weeks I've just caught up on :)

Updated list (REVISED 1 May with week 3 link reinstated to original per following posts):

Thanks to Nancy, Shell and Linda for posting flakes, they all look lovely!

I can't wait to start catching up - nary a flake did I crochet while away (and precious little on my holiday project (April Flowers Scarf) either). Ah well, it was a lovely holiday, though :D. See you all around the boards!

Cheers,

Marika

I hope so. I've been behind on snowflakes but I have a good reason (at least I think it's a good one!) :lol

I posted my sisters birthday gift on the thread show and tell.

http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=76986

Now that it's done I've been catching up on flakes.

I have 5 to go to get up to date.

Happy crocheting,

PS.:welcome back Marika! Hope your trip was fun!

You are twisting my arm Nancy!! I will join, but I am going to beg off for a little bit while I finish up 2 other projects.

I'll catch up on the weeks when I actually join you.

We'll be here waiting for you. That's what works so well with this CAL. They're small enough that they don't take lots of time but still a beautiful result - and you get to talk to some great crocheters who are always here with help and support = Fun crocheting!

Thanks busy-bee and Marika for your kind words on my table topper. It was fun to make, but it's put me a little behind. I have a few finishing touches on my Pet Swap items and then I'll get back to the flakes.

I have made 4. I don't think anyone could possibly be more behind!!!!

I've lost my mojo lately, musta burnt myself out on crocheting while I was teaching myself last year..... I couldn't get enough of it!

I'm trying really hard to want to, I ALMOST picked up my hook yesterday.....

Maybe I'll get there today.

Wish me luck!

Welcome to Snowflake Mondays! Even though it is now Wednesday lol

suziedemars, hang in there...they work up fast & you'll be caught up in time.

Nancy, thanks for updating the list. I've had a virus for several days & not been crocheting so between ds's surgery, prom & my cold, I have about 2 or 3 to catch up on myself.

I joinned forever ago. :blush It is embarrasing so I kind of lurk. :lurk I now have 3 :lol done as of this morning. I decided to give my self a kick. :kick The good news is the first one I made was the dreaded one with all the picots!:whew

:?Week 12- Was the pattern wrong or did I read it wrong? On row 3? Mine didn't have the small Triagnles between the "spikes" so I just winged it to make it look like the picture.:think

Hi Everyone,

Yep, there seems to be a question about week 3. Here's the one I have for week 3 : http://www.members.aol.com/_ht_a/lffunt/picsnow.html

The other one listed is (I think) a picture of week #2's pattern. It's the first picture on Ashley Makins' blog.

What does everyone else have?

Y'all are right... I have no idea how the switch happened, but week 3 was wrong, I've edited my last post with list in it (previous page) to reflect the correct week 3 with super-picot-flake :).

Cheers,

Marika

Maybe it is just me. Now I am having problems with this pattern. HELP.

:think

Week 2 - Round 2. I am not getting it.. ch 7, sc in 3rd ch from hook, ch 2, sk next sc, sc in next sc.

So we just formed a picot w/sc in 3rd chain from hook....that leaves 4 chs before the picot, so why only ch 2? It makes it lop sided.

The pictures not lop sided.

:rolleyes Its me again!!

Last dumb :? for the day....I hope.

I know how to stiffin them, I know how to block, but what do you cover the board with? I thought wax paper, I thought saran wrap. But won't the glue stick to it?:(

I really am haveing some blond moments.

I use wax paper underneath for drips. When you pin the snowflake down, slide the flake up on the pins so it's not touching the wax paper. It is suspended above the paper. That way it doesn't stick (& dries faster also).

Ooooo.. Nifty :) I'll have to try it that way, I just use silicone baking paper (wax paper equivalent) and get a slight buildup of goo residue - I have not had any stick so much that a small tug or sliding something beneath does not release quite easily. But I like the snowflake suspension idea :D.

Cheers,

Marika
