It is a great idea... I don't mind particularly jumping in as I am 14 hours ahead of you all, so I get quite itchy fingers on Monday :).

If folks don't mind, I've been trying my hand at designing an Irish Rose Snowflake and would love to post it for next week for folks to test out... if you're all agreeable? :blush

Oooo! That sounds gorgeous! I'd love to be a tester for it.:yay:yay:yay

Hi everyone, I thought it was time to showoff :P ...

I finally got my pinning board setup and got some glitter and made up some starch and started blocking and stiffening.

Here are weeks 3, 5 & 6 (the other three are still waiting, I only got 30 pins... argh! I knew I should have grabbed another box!)

Hi all,

Just a note to let you know that the 10 Snowflakes page from which we have done #3 and #4 is back up

http://www.sarahanns.com/crochetworks/snowflakes.html

It seems she has installed a donation option for supporting her website offering...

Cheers,

Marika

Hi all,

My apologies for being so early, but, in my defense, it is Sunday evening here! (OK, late afternoon...) And I am so excited to post my snowflake for this next week, I hope you all like it :blush...

Please let me know if you have any problems with it or if I can clarify the pattern...

Cheers,

Marika

Very nice pattern. I took time out of my "goin for the green" CAL to give it a try. Not yet blocked (I think I'll wait till I have a few more.) Thanks again, and please don't apologize to me for being early. I can never wait for a new snowflake! If it's OK with everyone, I'll look for a pattern for next week. I'll warn you now though, I've never designed my own pattern so it may be a link to someone else's free pattern.

Beautiful design, Marika. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Nancy, yours turned out great!

I'm a little behind. I have last week's snowflake to do as well as this week's. I've been working hard on a couple of other big projects which will be done soon. Then I'm back at it.

Hi Everyone!

Just read through all 17 pages of this thread and was wondering if it is too late to join in? I always wanted to do a Christmas Tree in Crocheted snowflakes. This Crochet -Along would be the kick in the butt I need to keep going. :yes

It might be a week or two before I can get thread and a small enough hook though and I never worked with thread before. :eek:blush

Also a suggestion, I think it would be good to keep all the pattern links with their week # in one post. Would be much easier to find.

By the way, All your snowflakes are beautiful!!! :cheer:clap:yay

Take Care!

I'll echo Nancy's welcome and encouragement to jump on in :) I'll also add that if you haven't worked with thread before, IMHO snowflakes are the perfect way to give it a try as they are relatively small projects and tend to start by working into a ring which I find much easier than trying to work into chain stitches...

I like your idea about the single post with #s, we will have to figure out how to do that (especially as the thread starter has been offline for awhile, so finding a post in which to place them and someone to keep that up will be the trick as I believe you can only edit your own posts ??confirmation on this from someone more experienced on the board??).

Cheers,

Marika

Was the Northern snowflake week 6 and #4 from Sarahanns week #5?

Not to be confusing but then #3 from Sarahann is week 3 correct?

I should really just print these as soon as it's decided.... sorry.

I'm printing like crazy right now in hopes of catching up this week.

Yes.

No worries :) The Northern Snowflake was quite quick, if I recall correctly...

We will try to figure out where/how to keep a running inventory of flake listings...

Welcome!

Maybe we could post the links every 2/3 pages. They are hard to find unless you go through all the pages looking for the links. The first post would be the best option but that would require a lot of work for the CAL starter, who seems to be very busy with work.

Here are the links up to this week. I think they're in the right order?

I'm not sure what you mean by a new page? When doing CALs here you usually keep the info in the CAL thread.

Editing the first post is ideal. Since original poster seems to me busy, we could start a new snowflake CAL then we can have the first post have all the info. I'd suggest we could have a snowflake of the week but no one has to do it.

Being the rebel I am I have yet to do the snowflake posted.

Hi again,

Welcome suzzcq70! You're going to love it here.

I just meant whoever is adding this weeks snowflake could easily cut and paste all the previous flakes on the same page as the current week's snowflake. I guess I really meant "new flake":). Then whoever's turn it is can add theirs to the bottom of the list.

That way we can keep all of our postings with everyone's beautiful photos in this forum.

Hi, everyone. I have agreed to list the snowflakes and keep the list updated in my first post, which is post 6 on page 1. I have them listed there now and also the post with the starching and blocking instructions. It's not as good as being in the first post, but hopefully it will help with those who join us later. Happy crocheting! :hook
