  2. Hi All! Happy I Love Yarn Day! It's been fun reading up on what you've all been making today. I have four current projects - none near finished. ;-) My favorite hook has to be my Jimbo. It's a lovely walnut "H". When I use it it the yarn sort of floats over it. warmest regards,
  3. WOW! The pony express was working overtime this week! Claire's BEAUTIFUL hook arrived this morning!!!!! Thank you (((((Jimbo)))))))!
  4. I've posted my thanks elsewhere but wanted to re-post it here. http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=129633 I'll confess I'm a bit biased but I think all the winners did a teriffic job! I'll add that teaching my great-niece, Claire, has been fun. I'm very proud of her and her first project. She can hardly wait for her Jimbo hook to arrive and has plans to raid my stash for many future projects. Thanks for offering the contest. It's a great way to get kids interested in crochet.
  5. We're very proud of our niece, Claire. She entered Jimbo's International Kinder Crochet Contest and ......... drum roll please! This morning's post on Jimbo's blog lists her as a winner! (Something we've known for 8 years!) You can check out her entry and all the other terrific winners @ http://jimbosfrontporch.blogspot.com/index.html Thank you Jimbo for encouraging kids to learn to crochet! You're the best! (Something else we've known for a while!)
  6. Mission accomplished! The tutorial was just what I needed to get started. Thanks for suggesting it!

  12. Thanks nicole, I'm not sure how to tell if it's Tunisian or single crochet. Sorry, I'm a real rookie at this. The instructions tell me to use a size I hook. Will that help? I guess I should attempt to follow a tutorial for entrelac first before I try to do this on a blanket. Can you recommend one? The instructions say "Skip the first vertical bar"????? I need to get a very basic beginner lesson.
  13. Hi! I'm stumped. I made "How to Crochet a Nappy Cake" by Carolyn Christmas. It's a wonderful pattern and I'm very happy with the result. But, I've tried several times to make the blanket with the entrelac edge with some pretty funny results. The shower has come and gone. The cake was a huge hit but missing that beautiful blanket. I've seen a few tutorials on creating the little squares/triangles. I can't seem to find help with making them on the edge of the blanket. I did a row of embroidered blanket stitch around like the pattern says but just can't seem to get my brain around the next s
