I was just playing around with some thread and made these;

I am just wondering what they look like to you? I know what I think they look like but I'd rather see your opinions as this is my first time "designing" a tatted piece, although I'd hardly consider this a design! If you had to pick one of these 3 as a fave, or it looks more like something than the other I'd be very interested to hear it thanks for your time

 

(yes I realise the little red/blue one has a twisted picot but I just didn't have 3 hands it's not a permanant disability for the lil thing, I just had the camera in my hand already )

I've been playing with dragonflies. I don't think I am too far off the mark, though I certainly have a way to go! After I made this I looked up some dragonfly pics and I just wish I could sketch! I see something in my mind only now I need to make it work. I think up to the 4rings that it's looking fine. The picot wings are going, I don't like them at all. Well, this is attempts one, wonder what more I can do this evening (it's only 3:42pm so hardly evening ). Forgive the knot, I just wanted to end it so I can start again.

they look like dragonflies to me. You can attach them to the hairpins and make cool decorative pieces. Great job!

yep the body could be elongated but the trouble with it being a ring is that it's going to look too much like a circle than anything more like a long thin dragonfly body. how much longer do you envision it? would you put the wings higher up the body, further from the tail? tell me what you see and I will see what I come up with

thank you all ladies, that was exactly what I wanted to hear!!!! I had hoped to make dragonflies I just wasn't sure if I'd pulled it off enough for them to be recoginsable. I like the right most one too. I think that's the one where I got the picots at a better size to the others and I didn't do 2 picot antannae but one and cut it in half. these are so small (as you can imagine by seeing the on my fingertips). I will "write the pattern" and post it in the tat-a-long which is in the crochetalong folder

They look like perfect little dragonflies to me! I like the lighter ones best. The red/blue one looks like his body is a little too big. On the other two I like the shape of the body better. I think my favorite is the one with the double wings (it's on the right in the photo with your hand).
