Lion Stocking/Gift Bag

Neenersmom had been looking for a lion stocking, and ideas started swirling around. After coming up with one (idea, that is) that would be time consuming and tricky, it gradually morphed into a less tricky, less time-consuming version.

The body is done in one piece, with only minor sewing (plus the embroidery). The face is done separately, and can be used on totes, or other conventional stockings. Or anything else you can think of! The mane was fun, I simply watched a movie while I 'fringed', then separated plies of most of the yarn to make it wild.

 

I'm leaning toward submitting this to a magazine. Oh, and it 'stands' app. 14" tall.
