Colourful Mountain Hats!

Here are a couple of hats I whipped up yesterday. Hope you like them!

Very cute. I make some with a similar pattern but I've always sc'ed the ties. I like the braided look better though. Much more trendy.

I got the pattern from http://www.angelscrochet.com/patterns/mountainpat.php but I added a couple more rows, and I finished it off differently. I used an h hook for the adult size and a g hook for the kids size. My gauge is usually pretty good but when I used the hook she suggested it turned out huge.

I've made a similar one with braids, but I did the ear flaps in solid. I think I like the way you did it better. I'll need to try again! Very colorful!

I love 'em! They look nice and cozy, like you'd always have warm ears. Your yarn choices are so pretty, too. I think that I may have to hook up a couple for Christmas presents this year; thanks for sharing the pattern.

The child size fits my son who has an 18.5 inch head. it would definetly stretch though I would say it would fit from a 2 year old up to about 7 or 8.

So..... did everyone use the suggested size hooks from the pattern or hookjunkies suggestions? I am planning on making one for my partner for winter , and was interested to see how the sizing worked for everyone .
