February Tree 2010

I have finally moved on from the Christmas tree to the February tree.

 

I made the skirt from the pattern in Crochet World Dec 2008

 

I just changed the colors a little.

 

On the tree itself I have mostly hearts:vheart in different colors.

 

If you look closely, you will see some little cupids.

 

I know there is a lot of space left, but this is a good start.

 

I do hope you enjoy the tree, now off to make a skirt for the March Tree.

February seems to get lost in the celebration of Valentines Day, so I could use some ideas of what else can go on this tree.

February is also Mardi Gras - so little masks maybe?

There is Washington & Lincoln's Birthday (I like those better than President's day) - so cherries and stove pipe hats? Or flags?

great tree - and you got some good suggestions. groundhogs - presidents birthdays - so i was thinking the big black hats. mardi gras is a great suggestion too!! purple green and gold on the tree!

Its beautiful. I love your tree skirt. My niece has started leaving a tree up and she changes the lights (but its not as big as your tree). The red and clear lights went up for Feb.

Thanks for the ideas and the compliments. Now I will be playing with that.

I can't change my lights, as it is a pre-lit tree. So I either leave them off or use them. I think they add to the tree.

At times (Halloween) I wish I could change them.

Off to try and find some patterns for cherries and top hats.

I pulled up the Wiki for "February" and it was interesting. The Viola and the Primrose are the birth flowers. Also, February is the only month that can pass without a full moon. So I think a crescent moon would look nice on your tree.
