You would definately have muscles by the time you were done crocheting with that. I thought it was kinda funny. That would be a good exercise workout! lol.

As others have said, what a work out.

As for what fibre she is using , I dont know either but I can see a practical use for the finished item, a sleeping bag with built in mattress.

:lolYou know the scenario, unexpected guests arrive and no spare bed.

Give them a bundle of very large gauge yarn and turn on You Tube and show them how to make their own bed.

They would certainly sleep well and would probably never come back to stay with you ever again.

 

:thinkI have actually seen something similar before but with knitting.

I think it was a video to show children how knitting works so instead of using needles, they just used some sort of rope and made the stitches on the floor.

It was great to watch and much easier to understand how it all works.

I have seen extreme knitting before, but that's the first for extreme crochet, although, I did see someone crochet themself into a bag on You Tube once in an hour or so - or something like that. Weird.

Holy fudgecakes! That's some thick yarn!

Part of me wants to try that, but the practical part of me is screaming not to. I bet it'd be comfy to sleep in though.

 

I bet if she'd used "yarn" that was slightly thinner than that it wouldn't have been such an effort.
