Orient Star Doily

I finished this several months ago now. I found it the other day still unblocked, so...I blocked it. The pattern for "Orient Star" came from this booklet...

 

...and here it is in all its..um..glory?

 

 

The doily was supposed to have a more rounded square shape, but I couldn't get it to block correctly for the life of me. I think a little more patience is required of me for one thing. I'll probably try again one of these days...maybe.

As for blocking ...I'm with ya on the lack of patience but then when I finally get around to doing it, I love how they turn out. Great job.

I think you did a really nice job on this doily, and the way it looks is fine, who says it has to be exactly like the pattern? The color is striking and really shows the pattern stitches up very well.

Mandie I think you did a great job on the doily. I don't think anything looks wrong with it. From reading C'ville, a lot of people put their own interpretations to things anyway. Only you would know if it didn't come out the way you wanted. Love the color.
