DesertCrocheter Posted December 1, 2005 My mom, who makes blankets for Project Linus, had a very productive October and November--she made 16 blankets in about 6 weeks. Smokin' hookin'!! Anyway, here are photos of 11 of them. She's been experimenting with non-pastel colors now (and in larger sizes for toddlers and small kids), and making up some patterns of her own. They may already exist out there somewhere, but since she doesn't own any pattern books and her pc is no longer hooked up the internet, I know she's coming up with these on her own and any resemblance to anyone else's patterns is purely coincidental. Take a look, give us your opinion (I pass them on to Mom) and Happy December!! http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a383/DesertCrocheter/Blankets/IM002785.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a383/DesertCrocheter/Blankets/IM002788.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a383/DesertCrocheter/Blankets/IM002791.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a383/DesertCrocheter/Blankets/IM002794.jpg one of her own designs; she hasn't come up with a name, so for now it's her open line pattern--5 rows of dc, followed by a row of *dc, ch1* to give an open line of mesh: http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a383/DesertCrocheter/Blankets/IM002797.jpg her windowpane pattern: http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a383/DesertCrocheter/Blankets/IM002799.jpg close-up windowpane: http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a383/DesertCrocheter/Blankets/IM002800.jpg Phew!!! She's making my sister a large red windowpane afghan for Christmas so her production levels have dropped off. Thanks for looking, everyone! zazzu Posted December 2, 2005 Your mother does beautiful (and fast!!) work. I love all the colors she used. There are still plenty of people who like pastels for babies. Bright colors for toddlers really seems to have caught on, too, I've noticed. Yay! for your mom. One of my NY's resolutions is gonna be to make more for charity. Thanks for the inspiration
