Japanese stole

A friend in Japan helped me get a copy of an out of print book from amazonjapan. I made her a stole from the pattern that i had seen online and fell in love with.

the yarn is Jojoland Melody, colorway 29; i love the color blending in the Jojoland yarns. i used a 4.25mm hook. It took 4 skeins. I actually started it and worked in one direction and then went back to the starting point and worked in the other direction, so that i could finish each end on the same row and get the same scallop on each end.

 

I am IN LOVE with the stitch pattern in the stole. it is now listed on ravelry as "mohair stole" http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/sources/fantastic-crochet---/patterns I think the first place i saw it was in this project page http://www.ravelry.com/projects/tdaphne/a-moonlit-night-on-the-spring-river

which is not linked to any patterns. Before rav added the pattern listing, it took me forever to figure out which book it was from. But in the end the hunt was successful! I will say that this shows to best advantage when you can see through it, i mean when there is light behind it, so when worn it actually kind of loses something.
