Mixed-Media Crochet Dahlia Garden O'alls and Cap

Recommended Posts

Thought these turned out to be a really fun project. I started by crocheting the bib, skirt, cap and sun motif out of pima cotton... then I added dahlia motifs made from vintage denim, all hand-sewn appliques, to the legs and one on the crocheted cap. I finished with more denim appliques for the stems and leaves, but what was really cute is I added dragonfly, ladybug and bumblebee buttons scattered all over the "garden":hook The orange yarn was handpainted, so it had alot of pretty color variations:D

I found the trick is to wait till after lunch and before nap time when she is relaxed and full, then Daddy stands behind me doing God-only-knows what while she laughs:devil!LOL
