Life's a Beach Tote

Roli

Recommended Posts

This pattern by Renee Barnes is from Crochet magazine of May 2008 and is free on the web. I used white Paton's Grace combined with size 10 Royal thread. The pattern's instructions result in a very strange bottom. I was having a problem making it to the proper shape so I decided to crochet a 12" disc instead. Then I began my net fabric. I also joined the chains with a single crochet stitch instead of a slip stitch. I got all my shells at the shell store here in Palm Beach. Because I needed drilled shells, I bought a shell wind chime. It was impossible to string the shells onto the yarn because the holes had been made for nylon thread and were too small, therefore, I stitched them on when the bag was complete.

That is so cool. I read somewhere, that if you put your beads or shells on regular sewing thread the same color as your yarn and crochet with both, you can use shells and beads with smaller holes:think

I really like the color and the shells on this bag.:hook
