Rice Bag with Heart

I made this for my sister for V-day...Just finished the liner this morning before dashing to the PO...

I made it so that the inner bag of rice could be removed so that the outer cover could be washed. It's essentially a Long rectangle in "Up and Down" st (sc, dc, sc, dc, across (even # of stitches) every row). I think it's also called moss st or crumple st. Then I folded it almost in half (about 2 1/2 inches shy), with the top bit tucked in for a fold over flap. I sewed through all the layers on the sides (so the flap is also anchored), and turned it right side out. Oh ya, it's made with ww cotton (Peaches and creme) and an I hook.

 

Sorry about the lousy picture...my camera's practically an antique in the digital world. finally have saved up enough and ordered a newer one that I can't wait to get...meanwhile the cover is really a nice deep spruce green and the heart is a deep burgundy.
