Beeton's Book of Needlework D'Oyley No. 5.

Here's a link to the book online. The instructions are sorta hard to interpret. But the doilies are so unique I can't resist them. (http://www.gutenberg.org/files/15147/15147-h/15147-h.htm )

Hi, I am doing doily number 4. I found out that the stitches in the instructions do not correspond to the patterns so I made my own stiches based on the photos. Like for example, the leaf turned out really thin, so I just added extra loops to the treble and double stitch. Also, it really needs  a lot of interpretation because it doesnt explain you everything, I have to look to the picture all the time, guess what motif I am working on and then figure the pattern out. So far the leaf turned out ok and a sort of spiky flower too.
