CockaDoodle Doo!!

Just put the finishing touches on this this morning:

 

 

 

It's from a vintage pattern I found on the web. I think I remember that the pattern called for size 5 thread (or something like that) but I used sugar n cream (white) and peaches n creme (earth variegated, red, black).

 

The cockscomb and wattles were supposed to be made of felt, but I freehanded them. Eyes were supposed to be beads, I just used black cotton and sewed until it looked right to me.

 

The pattern also calls for lining the potholder in felt, but I don't think I'm going there either.

 

I'm very pleased at how he turned out.. thinking about improvising a turkey out of it...not sure how to exactly do the tailfeathers though.
