We're going to Michaels first tomorrow (then Wal-Mart), and I know I have seen a Caron teal there in the past. Of course, that means they won't have it now. There is also a TLC Essentials Teal, or maybe a TLC Heathers, but in any case I have my fingers crossed. If I find it, I'll do my squares teal with a teeny bit of purple accent, since the teal is so hard to find. Keeping my fingers crossed!!! :bounce

One down.. two to go!

What's our deadline on the squares?

Deb, it's beautiful! :clap :thumbsup :yay2

I am hoping to have the squares sent to Chelle by the end of this month. Sooner if possible, of course. :wink I can hardly wait to get started myself! Hopefully tomorrow! :rock

I started a Dream Catcher square in some yarn for myself tonight. It's beautiful and works up really fast. I'll probably buy my yarn for Christie's afghan tomorrow. Chelle, did you want us to crochet any certain number along the sides, top and bottom to make the squares easier to join? :shrug

Joy, what a pretty square! :)h

I had no luck at Michaels or Wal-Mart for teal. While I hoped for better, I expected it. I bought a skein of RH Dark Plum to go with my various other shades of purple; somebody mentioned earlier they had bought the Dark Plum so it will coordinate nicely. Off to start my first square! :clap

I picked up a skein of RH in Orchid and Monet today to complement my Med. Purple. Now the hard part is choosing a pattern! There are a lot of beautiful ones just calling out to be made! :)

While I was working on a square today, I had a thought. How about if each one of us duplicate one of our three squares (which would mean that we are making four) and make the lapghan for Jordan? If we made a duplicate square it would make a smaller version of Mom's and I thought that would be pretty cool. What do you think? Good idea...To MUCH work? :shrug

Chelle,

I do appreciate all the work that you will be doing for us all on this. If you want help, I would be willing. It's just that you do such a beautiful job joining. Three :cheer 's for Chelle.

P.S. I did find a varigated yarn by RH today with Teal in it. It's called Gemstones. I bought one and will use it in one of my squares. Probably the one I will double up on. :bounce

poop! i'm bummed about my first square. i took everything with me to my kiddo's (oldest 2) swim team junk.... and left my patterns at home:bang ----- i didn't want to waste the time, so i just did a traditional granny :irked i'm thinking of going back and adding a 3D rose to the center - but wanted opinions first.... that might throw off the look of the ghan???

the square is out of the med purp and i was thinking of the rose in the pale plum :huh

There is nothing wrong with a traditional granny! <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/veryhappy.gif" /> I was half tempted myself to do that. The rose is a great idea!

I love the idea of the lapghan! I can handle duplicating one of my squares. :)

I love the look of the dark plum with the orchid, Julie! I knew I should have nabbed the dark plum. Oh well, there always is tomorrow. Hehe :sheepjump

<img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/bounce012.gif" /> I'm thinking I need a lot more of that Dark Plum than I bought, too. Eight or nine skeins for sure, don't you think? hehehehehehehee <img border=0 src="http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/tongue.gif" />
