I finished my first square last night using this pattern, med. purple, monet, and orchid. :fluffy

I'm not sure if the size is right because the girls have hidden every one of my measuring devices. :irked I was so desperate last night I went digging through their coloring supplies to find an old wooden ruler that I can't read the numbers on because of years of coloring.

Joy, Hilary, Deb - That's great! I will be sure to let you know when I have received them. Deb, I sent you an email with my mailing address.

Tiff - Great square!

I finished my 4th square last night. I made another of the 3rd square I posted. I picked up some dark plum at walmart yesterday. I will be searching for spruce this weekend, and I have orchid. What other colors should I get?

More great squares!!! <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/cheerleader.gif" />

I'm going to get started on my last ones right now. DS is cheerfully playing video games so I should have some peace.

Chelle, the dark plum could be a good joiner color since a lot of us used that in our squares. If when you see the squares in person and want to use the spruce, let me know if you can't find it. I can pick up whatever you need & mail it.

Great looking squares girls :cheer

Holly the heart square came off of an afghan called Lacy Valentine. The book it came out of is Best Loved Afghans.

Chelle, I didn't get them out today...I'll try for tomorrow. One of the disadvantages of living out of town. I don't go unless I have several things to do. Wouldn't change a thing though. :)h

Rebecca, we didn't set a deadline for getting the squares out, only to say hopefully by the end of this month. The sooner the better, of course. I've only finished 2 squares so far, yesterday was a lost cause so far as crocheting was concerned and I wasn't able to touch a hook. I'm hoping for better today. :))

okay, back from WM - i should get that square finished tonight, but honestly, don't know if i'll be getting out this weekend - hubby is in florida (jackson<ville?>) for a week or so more. just the beginning..... he travels most of the fall and winter:thumbsdown . it gets tough once the months start passing without him, ---- anyhow, you'll hear me whine more later:frog

okay, so i have a new I-hook and will begin again.

Here's the third one, after nearly three days of not being able to touch a hook. Do ya think I was going crazy? <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/oops.gif" />

The best part of having a stash is that I found a skein of Red Heart teal... not that it was labeled, but I usually only buy RH. It's old, possibly the same color I used to make my first ever afghan that starts out smaller than it finished as I learned how to stitch. If it is that color, it's about six years old. No, I don't throw stuff away!! rofl.gif

I'm doing a second of this one, for my fourth square. Hopefully I can finish it tomorrow and make it to the post office to Chelle either Monday or Tuesday. <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/woohoo2.gif" />

I'm finished! I just didn't get to the post office today. <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/sweat.gif" /> I kept company with my two year old nephew all day. Wow...! What a workout! <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/cutewink.gif" />

[remember - I don't have a digital camera --- yet! so these are fresh off the scanner!]

Here's my second square. I followed one of Dayna's patterns... then got hopelessly lost.. so I made up the rest. <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/thumbsup.gif" />

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v298/definitelydeb/CraftyStuff/12inchNo2.jpg" width="250">

And the third square... I just did a variation of the granny square.. only OFF CENTER... kind of like me! <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/rocking.gif" /> (this is the one I chose to duplicate for the lapghan)

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v298/definitelydeb/CraftyStuff/12inchNo3.jpg" width="250">

I should have them in the mail on Monday! <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/woohoo2.gif" />

I've got enough yarn to make the mom slippers.... should I? does she have average sized feet?

Deb, those squares are great! And I think slippers are a wonderful idea! <img border=0 src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/rowofhearts.gif" />

Thanks Chelle! I was able to start on the fourth square last night, so should have it done easily today, Lord willing. <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/veryhappy.gif" />

I got see Jordan this weekend and she looks very good. We had her little brothers birthday this weekend so the whole family got together. She is pretty weak from all the procedures done on her. The doctors are making her walk every where to build up her legs because they are so weak she can't stand up from a sitting position. She has no pain after having her gall bladder out which is amazing because I hurt for two solid weeks after having mine out. I think she's a little tougher than me though. Home health came in this morning to remove all tape from her body and to wrap her up with self-clinging gauze. Because of the meds they will give her, she can't have any tape, soap, or lotion of any kind touch her skin. Tomorrow they will start her "Total Body Irradiation" or "TBI" for four days and Friday she will be admitted into the hospital in preparation for the transplant. More updates will come as I get them. Thanks to everyone who sent her something and special thanks to Chris and Mary Dawn for the colorful package. Although mom got more of a kick out of the box than Jordan did. She told mom, " You can have the box and I'll keep what's in the box". Mom sends her thanks!

this is an email from her dad sent to the employees at the office.... they sent out a care package for her last week. i'm not sure what all was in it... i'll have to bug mary dawn about that (she's my hubby's assist.) anyhow, i just like to send out the information as i get it... i know you are all praying for her.

Thank you for the update. I'm so glad things are looking good so far. She's got a long road ahead of her but any good news is...well...good <img border=0 src="http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/happy.gif" />

I'm hoping to have my squares done tonight!!!

I'm so glad that Jordan is doing okay. She is in my prayers. :)

My goal is to finish up a few stray bookmarks tonight (I fear the mob of angry swap pals if I don't get movin' :P ) and then tomorrow is reserved for finishing up my squares. I've got two to go. :)

My new computer has the slots for camera memory cards on the front so I'm excited to get a few more squares finished so that I can upload in a flash. :)

Yay! I'm glad they got there safe and sound.

Funny thing about those slippers is... I ran out to buy MORE yarn.. because I didn't think I'd be able to finish them, once I was committed to making them. Then I never got into the new skein... <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/rofl.gif" /> and had about three inches of the first skein left. Talk about cutting it close!

I guess I can return the one I bought??? I've never tried to return yarn. Never wanted to. <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/blush.gif" />
