Thread clown doll

With just a bit of thread left on its cardboard tube, not enough for a doily (only a very small one!) I thought of making my clown doll in thread. Figured I would use up the last of that white. Nope. The doll turned out a little smaller than I thought (only 4") and with only the head and two very tiny hands...there's still white thread left!

I'm debating putting a mouth on him, I rarely put a mouth on my dolls. Partly cause I like the look, partly cause I tend to have trouble with mouths.

The original was app. 13" in worsted weight.

Thank you all!

And Pam, I didn't have to adjust the pattern at all, used as is! I want to try other patterns with thread now to see how they'll look...

Sally, that is wonderful that you didn't have to adjust the pattern. I have a MaryJane stocking done in thread in my album that was a yarn pattern. I came out fine without adjustments but then again, it was only a stocking. I've been wanting to try some other yarn patterns in thread.

Thanks again and again, the clown is adorable.
