She is finally typed up!

Mary Melody

Walking through the forest, you hear a sound that takes your breath away. You cant quite pin-point what the sound it. It is a faint sound, blowing in the wind.

All the fairies know where the sound is coming from!

Who would have guessed such a sweet song could come from such a tiny fairy!

Measuring just 4 ½ inches from head to toe, Mary is the smallest of the fairy cousins. She has been blessed with the gift of song. Even at this tender age, her voice will calm and soothe you. She brings harmony into the forest.

 

General supplies:

Size E and G Crochet Hook

Small amounts of ww yarn and baby yarn

Tapestry needle for sewing

Fiberfill

Small buttons for eyes

2 White pipe cleaner for arms and legs

Small sewing snap. (metal or plastic) for dress

1/8 inch ribbon for bonnet ties

Tiny amount of purchased doll hair. (optional)

 

Yarns used:

Off white for doll

Melon colored sports weigh yarn (RH baby) for main color

Yellow sports weight yarn for contrast color

General terms

Sc-dec= single crochet decrease (decrease over 2 stitches)

Sc= single crochet

FO= finish off

Ch= chain

Slp st=slip stitch

BLO = In Back Loops Only

 

Feel free to use any colors you want!

This is to work up the front bonnet trim.

 

Front trim.

 

With contrast color and E hook, join with slp-st to first stitch of front of bonnet.

Ch 1, (sc, ch 2, sc, ch 2, sc) in stitch across

FO

Weave in ends.

/th_Mary.jpg Here she is. I think i messed her hat up because it doesn't look like yours . :think Thanks for clarifying about the last row on the hat . I had no problems with the pattern. Except i think maybe i messed up the hat. I'll have to give it a go again and see where i went wrong.. I have to get some ribbon and a snap.. coulda swore i had some.I ordered some eyes so kinda waiting on those to add her eyes. My daughter has already claimed her. So the hair will have to wait too . She grabbed her and took off . I only got her back long enough for a pic and she was gone again lol. Thanks so much for letting me test! She is well loved by my daughter although i had to take the pipe cleaners out cause they were poking through . I'll have to make another to go with my porcelain dolls . I don't have many yet but, i have a few she would fit right in with. :D

i have mary almost finished. have to get the bonnet together and put the face on. will try and post some pictures this weekend. thanks again for a great little doll. everything went just as it was printed.

I've finally finished. It was a very easy pattern but I had to redo the doll because she came out too small with the suggested hook size. I went up to an I hook but used the suggested size for the clothes. My camera and the lighting were fighting with me so please forgive the picture quality.
