Treble Waterfall

My mom picked out this skein of Homespun in Waterfall for a scarf.

I designed it myself after many false starts and the pattern below

is my first attempt. It's been tested by one person but if anyone

finds any errors please let me know. Thanks!

 

 

 

 

 

Materials:

One Skein Lion Brand

Homespun in Waterfall

Size K Hook

 

Size: 5 ½” x 61”

Gauge: 8 sc = 4”

 

Special Stitches: Double Treble (dtr)

Yo 3 times. Insert into next stitch. Yo and pull through stitch (5

loops on hook). *Yo and pull through two loops on hook. Rep

from * three times. One double treble crochet stitch completed.

 

Scarf

Ch 158

Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook, sc in each ch across. Turn.

(157 sc)

Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first hdc and ch 1). *sk 1, hdc, ch 1. Rep

from * across. End with hdc in last st. Turn. (78 ch-1 spaces)

Row 3-4: Ch 1. Sc in first st, sc in ea st across. Turn.

Row 5: Ch 5 (counts as first dtr). Dtr in next st and in ea sc

across. Turn. (157 dtr)

Row 6: Ch 1. Sc in first dtr, sc in ea dtr across. Turn.

Row 7: Rep row 3.

Row 8: Rep row 2.

Row 9: Rep row 3.

Row 10: (RS) Do not ch 1. Sl st in first st. *4 hdc in next st (shell

made), sk 1, sl st in next st, sk 1. Rep from * across. Sl st to last

sc. Fasten off. (39 shells)

Row 11: Sl st to opposite side on RS. *4 hdc in next st (shell

made), sk 1, sl st in next st, sk 1. Rep from * across. Sl st to last

sc. Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Very pretty. I like the texture it has to it and the 'stripe' it creates without having to change colors. I really like the rippled edges.

I love the way that yarn feels. I just got some in Tudor. I made a little purse for my niece. I love the way it changes colors so gradually.
