Actually, Caron makes Simply Soft. It's Red Heart Super Saver.

Either way - it's just plain old 4 ply WW acrylic yarn. Simply Soft is closer to sport weight (it's thinner)

check out the Round Ripple Cal. I used the Sew on Fire pattern with Chrome Kitties Correction for round 3

Thank you for your help. I have 3 baby afghans to finish befor I get to start this one. Now I have an incentive to get them done faster. Hope I can hold out.

Thank You

Donna

The pattern can be found at Sew on Fire.

Chrome Kitty's correction for Rnd 3 is found here.

It's 5 1/2 feet from point to point.

I use jimbo's I 1/2 hook (for just about everything that's not 2 stranded)

It was all RHSS in Hot Pink and Black.

You can see where I added the extra squares. I did 3 rounds of dc, granny shell in the corners and 1 round of sc in black for sewing. 14 st's, ch1 across. Then you just continue on with the round ripple pattern. It's really very easy.

I wanted to do 2 more rounds of pink but I ran out of yarn. :blush

The whole color pattern is based on 10.

Center - 5 rounds

Black - 5 rounds

***************

Pink - 7 rounds

Black - 3 rounds

***************

Pink - 3 rounds

Black - 7 rounds

***then the pink squares***

Black - another 7 rounds and

the last Pink ws supposed to be 3 rounds but I only had enough yarn for 1 round dc and 1 round sc to finish it off.

It's for my daughter's best friend. :c9 Her bday is in August but Amber couldn't wait that long so she'll be getting it this week!

Just gorgeous!

Maybe it's just been a long day but can someone explain this part of adding the sqaures...

3 rounds of dc, granny shell in the corners and 1 round of sc in black for sewing. 14 st's, ch1 across. :think

If I read correctly is it to do 3 rounds of dc around the entire afghan

then do a granny shell (which I don't know what that is) in the indents rather than at the points?

then 1 round of sc around the whole afghan?

I'm not getting the 14 sts, ch 1 across.

Again, sorry, but can someone explain this to me a bit more? Irony here is that I'm usually the one around at my work explaining patterns to others. :lol

Thanks,

Mary

I did a square in 3 rounds with a (3dc, ch2, 3dc) corner so that each side of the square would have 14 stitches and fit right into the valley with 14 stitches left to reach the point.

IT's easier to add squares if you don't care if the points line up. I've done a couple like that too - the 8 1/2 ft rainbow has uneven points - I think they both look cool.
