It's 5 1/2 feet from point to point.

I use jimbo's I 1/2 hook (for just about everything that's not 2 stranded)

It was all RHSS in Hot Pink and Black.

You can see where I added the extra squares. I did 3 rounds of dc, granny shell in the corners and 1 round of sc in black for sewing. 14 st's, ch1 across. Then you just continue on with the round ripple pattern. It's really very easy.

I wanted to do 2 more rounds of pink but I ran out of yarn. :blush

The whole color pattern is based on 10.

Center - 5 rounds

Black - 5 rounds

***************

Pink - 7 rounds

Black - 3 rounds

***************

Pink - 3 rounds

Black - 7 rounds

***then the pink squares***

Black - another 7 rounds and

the last Pink ws supposed to be 3 rounds but I only had enough yarn for 1 round dc and 1 round sc to finish it off.

It's for my daughter's best friend. :c9 Her bday is in August but Amber couldn't wait that long so she'll be getting it this week!

That is one gorgeous looking afghan!!:clap Of course, I'm partial to pink and black, two of my favorte colors...:yes

thank you ladies for the wonderful comments. i thought Rose Red's colors were stunning but for an older girl. i went to the store knowing i wanted the pink and another girly color to go with it. they are red heart amethyst and shocking pink. i just hope i get it done in time. the foster mother to the little girl has seen my progress and just loves it to.
