Thank you yarnlover66 for the idea and inspiration! :)

Yarnlover66...Teresa, will be co~hosting this CAL with me. :clap:cheer:clap

Crinoline Ladys are simply beautiful! and you can put them just about anywhere, matted and framed to hang on a wall, sewn onto a baby blanket, table cloth edge, scrapbook cover...the possibilities are endless. They are a timeless treasure, an heirloom.

There are a few free patterns out there and some for purchase. I'll post links for both. There are no rules or time limits. Just chose your pattern, and post with your progress. Everyone is welcome, and we love pictures! So grab a hook and come on in!

I'm sure there are more patterns, these are the few I have handy.

This is a must see for any Crinoline Lady fanatic! Some one posted this link for me in the Crinoline Lady Crazy thread a while back..Thank you! ;) These look half embroidered and crocheted, just beautiful!

I think I will start off with the Cameo Girl Doily one if I can figure out how to just make the girl, not the whole doily...off to read the pattern!

I'd like to try making one. I think I'll do the Crinoline Ladies for Guest Towels. That looks like a simple one to start with.

Do you think I'm ready for this yet Sarah???? I mean from a handbag to something this big????? I do think they are so beautiful...

Sure! I'm actually working on the Cameo Girl Doily..(in the free links at the bottom of the first post) and the instructions are to make 1 girl at a time, then piece it together, it starts at the top of the neck then works its way down, it is also fairly easy, it looks like some of the rows are missing in the instructions, but in some places, it says to repeat last row, so if you take it 1 step at a time, this one would be a good starter. I'll post a photo of my progress (just started it this morning, so you will see how quick it goes) B/c there are not to many stitches. So grab a hook and jump on in! :hook:manyheart

Ok, here is my progress for today on the Cameo girl doily. I'm just making 1 and wll attach the arms to the skirt, instead of the joining motifs. I will be starting a different one too, I just haven't decided which one yet. The colors aren't this lemon-y. They just scanned bright. :D I did notice, the DMC Traditions # 10 thread is a little thicker than the Aunt Lydia's # 10 thread. Anyone else notice that too? Maby I just got a defictive ball? lol, anywho...crochet away!

Hello. I have a couple of crinoline lady patterns I bought a while ago and I would like to join this CAL. I told myself "no more CALS" until I "bust my stash" but I just can't resist this one. I love these little ladies. May I please join this CAL???

Heart that is beautiful. I havent worked with thread before, so not sure how I would go.

I would love to try one of these but not sure what I would do with it when its finished.

Thank you! You could start with something small like a bookmark, just to get the feel of it. You will do just fine, there is a lot of people here to offer helpful advice. So just say a prayer and jump right in. Thread instructions are exactly the same as with yarn. Your materials are just smaller. Pick a pattern that looks good and something you like. That looks easy or familiar for you to try. Also, try not to get frustrated, I still take a "break" for a few minutes when I mess up. Tea is always a great thing to have on hand! ;) We'd love to help you along. :hook

Oh yeah, I have put them all over, on baby blankets, in picture frames, maby in a scrap book...they used to sew them into the corners of table cloths as a decoration, or onto bathroom towels...

Thank you Heart. I am thinking about making mine to frame and hang on the wall in my sewing room. I love that vintage look in my sewing room and these would be perfect. (the sewing room is actually more like a "crochet room" that my sewing machine sits in.):lol

Which pattern from Crochetme did you buy to do the girl on your blog... she is just beautiful to me!

It's on the first pge, the 7th one down, the Red and Purple Crinoline Girl Doily. She looks like a red hatter. :D I love the skirt on this one too! Thank you Lea!

Suzy, which one are you doing? I can't access the link.

Lavelle26, I just got a sewing machiene yesterday! Praise Jesus! :D My mom sent me the money to buy it for my birthday. I told her she didn't have to, but she is doing much better, and this year she said she could afford it. So, a great big thank you to my Mom! I may put one of these Crinolines onto the front of a tote bag. That is going to be one of my sewing projects. ;)
