Mothers' Day Towels w/thread trim

Last spring I crocheted lace to go on towel sets for our mothers, white for my MIL, cream for my mother. This is the Piranesi Edging from Donna Kooler's Encyclopedia of Crochet. It's worked in Cebelia size 10 and who knows what size hook. Maybe a 7? I do like the nice Cebelia threads. They're smooth and silky and retain a lovely sheen and drape. Too bad they cost as much as they do — not practical for a big project.

Sarah, the lace is just sewn on after it is made. I'm trying right now to remember if I sewed it by hand or on the machine, but that was a year ago and... who knows? It is possible I basted by hand, then sewed by machine. The next time I'm back home, I'll have to take a look.
