I have several of the Japense scrubby books. These are my latest 2 that I made up. Each one took less then 1/2 ball of peaches and cream 100% cotton yarn, and only an hour or so to crochet up! I love them and I am very addicted to these little guys!

I've found amigurumi patterns at http://www.yesasia.com They might have scrubby patterns too.

I've bought one pattern book through there and it was everything I hoped for.

I made up these last night while watching prison break. if I force myself :devil I will probably be able to make all of the scrubbies from the pattern books. The fruit slices were from a different book, but still japanese

Those are sooooo cute!

For all things Japanese in the crafting world, you can check out this page. There are links on the left-hand side under "WHERE TO GET'EM". I can't wait till I go back home (I'm a Japanese living in the US) to stock up on Japanese craft books.

As for selling them, I personally have no idea, and I don't have any knowledge of how the laws apply internationally. :think I will go home tonight and check my Japanese crochet books to see if they say anything, but I'm sure it depends on the book.

I guess it would be good to know if I am breaking copyright laws! Please let me know. thanks

Okay, I looked at all my Japanese crochet books (5 in all, 4 by Nihon Vogue-Sha Co. and another one by a different company), but the only thing I found was something like "Reproduction rights of this publication are held by Nihon Vogue-Sha Co." or some variation thereof. My guess is that it's the same as "All rights reserved" since that's what it says on their web site.

I emailed the company to ask about selling hand-made items based on their patterns, so I'll let you know if/when I hear back from them.

If you read this thread http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=32166 there is alot of advice on this very subject. Basically it says no you cannot sell things made from someone else's pattern unless you have the written permission from the designer saying that you are authorized to.

And the same would be said of the treehouse and mice. I'm sure Kathleen's booklet is written in english and you should be able to read the copyright for yourself on this.
