The end of the Orange Blues

Finished the edge of this early this morning. I decided to crab stitch the edge. The afghan measures 63X 57 inches. Now that it is completed I will deliver its new owner. Although I made this afghan in colours I usually do not work with, I quite like the result.

Krystal, as I live in Australia (up in the north) I have always bought yarn that has never identified the name of the colour. I presume the stores work with codes and dyelots to order their stock. All I can tell you is that it is all acrylic yarn. These are the colours I used:

  • steel smokey blue
  • darker shade of steel blue
  • Orange - ... has more a red tinge than a yellow
  • lilac
  • Jade blue
  • deep yellow buttercup
  • a variegated in lilac, peach and blue/violet shades
  • Moss green

the smaller motifs in the centre also have a teal blue as these were left over from another project and I decided to include these in this afghan.

The colour combination is odd but it seems to work.

That is a work of art, Forines13!

I particularly love the outer border that looks like polka dots. I also like the way you used different sized squares...I tend to just do the same size and it turns out dull. You have a lot of artistic talent as well as craftsmanship.

Thank you for sharing!
