Never say never. Filet is one of the easiest forms of thread crochet. I love it as a beginner project. True this one is a little more than the average but once you have done a little filet work, you could do this easily.

If you can chain, single crochet and double crochet you can do filet crochet.

So look at it as a future goal, and who knows.
