HI! My name is Wil (short for Wilhelmina) and I'm brand new to crocheting. I'm a 28 year old who is a nurse by day and a soon-to-be law student by night. My interest in crocheting started when my mom convinced me to go on a Quilting Retreat with her about 2 weeks ago (thinking she can get me interested in quilting, like she is). Instead, I discovered that it takes too long to make a decent quilt, and costs too much to buy fabric. There was a woman at the Quilting Retreat who was crocheting a scarf for winter. I went up to her and asked her why she was crocheting at a Quilting Retreat and guess what she said...exactly my complaints above: "it takes too long...costs a lot of money...you can only have so many quilts.., etc." She said she was there just to accompany her daughter on the Retreat! She showed me the basic stitches and it was so satisfying to create something in one night and immediately wear it the next day! Needless to say, I was "hooked" (no pun intended) from then on! I'm really excited to learn different types of stitches and the wonderful things that I can create! I am a nurse by day too! I would love to take my crochet to work with me, but as soon as I would do that, all heck would break loose!:loco

Hi Wil,....welcome from another Crochetville newbie...what a great group of hook-ers here, and you will get much inspiration from reading about everyone else's projects, as I do.
