Tatted wreath ornament...

I asked a fellow crafter many years ago, if they knew how to tat, and if they have ever done so?  I really wanted to learn how to tat. The response I got was, "Why would you ever want to tat when you can crochet?"-haha

 

When I started doing this wreath, I was thinking of their response and thought that I could have gotten this wreath done in one night, had I created it in crochet, so it is very true that crochet is much quicker. For some reason, though, I am always drawn to the rings and chains in tatting. Even when I crotat, it doesn't give off the same delicate effect of tatting, itself.

 

Anyway, I finally got this "last minute" gift done over the weekend.

Very nice wreath. Tatting is very delicate looking and beautiful if you have the patience to do it.

I want to try to incorporate more tatting into my crocheted items in 2015 so I have been practicing.

Learn needle tatting! Much quicker and just as beautiful. People constantly comment when I'm tatting. Wreath is beautiful!!
