Tammy Turtle

I bought the African flower turtle pattern, as I have a friend who was given one of those little turtles and the thing has gotten so big.  I never knew anyone who got one of those and they lived this long.

 

Anyway, I decided to make this pattern for her.  I will be giving it to her in a couple of weeks, but I thought you might like to see it.

 

I used sports weight yarn and a size 4 hook.  It took awhile to make, but I am happy with the results.  If I make it again, I will try to stuff it more, but it looks good.

Cute turtle.  I didn't realize how large the critters were in these pattenrs until you and sopo started making them and showing us.  It will be interesting to see one done in thread.

My son has a huge tortoise in his backyard named Tardy who has quite a personality.

She took the turtle home and introduced her to Tommy and he stuck his head in.  She said maybe later he will be friendlier.

Awesome Turtle - Love it. Those little turtles are supposed to live a LOOOOONG time. Mine were five years old when they disappeared out of their outdoor kiddie pool. I was so upset! As long as provided with proper care life expectancy is 20 years and sometimes longer
