Lauren's Wedding ghan

Greetings all,

 

It's been a long time since I did some show and tell, but I am so happy with the way this turned out, I just had to share. Our friends' daughter is getting married on a cruise in the carribean (sp?) next week. I wanted to make a wedding ghan for her. She has a very contemporary house and colors, so I thought I would incorporate the beautiful colors of the waters and tropics.

 

I used cotton yarn and used a pattern from 200 Ripple Stitch Patterns by Jan Eaton. I think it's called the Waterbeach or something with water or beach in the name. The colores aren't the same in the photos as in reality, but they are pretty close.

That afghan pattern/color combo is perfectly named, before I read the description I thought to myself it looked like waves breaking on the beach with the varigated as the foam, yellow beach with wet/dry sand. Awesome!
