Handbag that I made to take on vacation

I made this handbag to take on vacation to Cancun. I didn't have a pattern and just made 2 squares the same size, then the panel for the sides and bottom. I tapered the sides in the center of the side panel so that the top was smaller and the bag wouldn't look as "boxy". Before lining it, I tacked plastic canvas to fit the bottom for stability. I got lots of compliments on the bag. Oh, and the crystal bobble that I used for a button was salvaged from an old anniversary clock that was unrepairable. I just knew the 4 crystals from that clock would someday come in handy!!!

 

Double strand of size 10 Cebelia and quite honestly I forget what size hook I used.

Love your bag, the shoulder strap looks light and comfortable to use. I never thought to use plastic canvas for support in the base, thats another tip I will remember to try. Enjoy your vacation.
