I'm making hats for her too. She's an awesome person. She's not doing so well lately, so please keep her in your prayers.

 

I found her thread right after DD was diagnosed with seizures, so it kinda hit home with me too. Anything to do with the brain.

I know. So many people make hats for cancer patients. And that's great, but there are other people who need hats who don't have cancer.

I would like to learn so I could help someone, too. You girls are wonderful to make hats for Schmetterling.

I have a collection of hats that I've made and the girls that I taught to crochet made for Schmetterling. Problem is, my kids know where the stash is, and they borrow hats some times.

The first few hats I made were done before I knew the difference between sc and sl st. So those were my practice hats. I need to make some more so I can send them soon.

I will be sure to let you know what pattern I picked. she wants what looks like a skull cap, but in a lacy shell stitch with a large flower on it. I really don't want to buy a hat. I can't justify it... you know?

All the hats I made helped me with the bun covers I made, and experimenting with them will help me make my next set of hats. I don't use a pattern too much any more.

Then you should definitely check out yarncat's website. She has patterns for flowers for the hats too!
