Materials:

Size 10 thread in 2 different colors (ca, cb)
Size 7 steel hook (1.65mm)
Needle (to weave in ends)

Finish size: About 16 ½”h x about 1” inch at its widest

Directions:

Stem:

Part 1: With ca leaving a 4 ½” to 5” inch tail ch25, sl st in 5th chain from hook, [ch25, turn chain (so back side of the chain it facing you), sl st in 5th chain from hook] Do this 3 times, ch24.
(4 leafs that alternate and 104 chains)

Note: It may take a couple tries to get the leaves right.

Part 2: 6 dc in 3rd chain from hook, join with sl st to first dc.

Part 3: Ch1, 2 sc in each of the 6 dc, join with sl st to first sc. (12sc)
(12sc)

Finish off and weave in end.

Flower:

Rnd 1: Join cb with a sc to any sc from part 3 (of stem), 1 sc in each of the next 11 sc, join with sl st to first sc.
(12sc)

Fold flower flat.

Rnd 2: Working through both sides of the flower work 6 sc in back loops only (this should leave the front loops on both sides free).
(6 sc)

Note: Do not work into front loops left free until Rnd 4. On Rnd 3 you will be working into the 6sc you just made.

Rnd 3: Ch3, turn, sl st in front loop of next st (this is the loop that is towards you), [ch3, sl st in front loop of next st] Do this 4 times, ch3, turn so other side in facing you, sl st in front loop of next st, [ch3, sl st in front loop of next st] Do this 5 times, Do not join!!!
(11-ch3 spaces)

Rnd 4: Working into front loops left free, work 1 sc into each of the 12 front loops, join with sl st to first sc.
(12sc)

Rnd 5: Ch3, sl st in next sc, [ch3, sl st in next sc] Do this 10 times, ch3, join with sl st to first sl st.
(12-ch3 spaces)

Finish off and weave in ends.

Tassel: Cut 3-11”inch pieces of thread in cb and cut 5-11”inch pieces of thread in ca. Insert hook in first chain made of stem, fold pieces of thread over hook, pull up a loop (with pieces of thread), take hook out of loop and pull loose ends through loop and pull taut. Make a knot to secure tassel (optional). Trim tassel to make sure it’s even or to desired length.
