Belle's Purse

My toddler loves to go in my purse and take as much as she can out of it before I stop her. After losing many things, I decided to make her a purse of her own. I used the Easy Peasy Crochet Bag pattern from laughing purple goldfish. I also used her tutorial to put the lining in.

The zipper was actually the part I dreaded the most. It was actually much easier than I expected. I messed it up a bit but that's due to my not being comfortable with hand-sewing. Anyway, you should definitely try it, it gives to the bag what the lining does.

 

I've decided to make one of these for a couple people for Christmas. I'm going to put the zipper in theirs as well because according to the reaction I've gotten from noncrafters, the zipper makes the bag a "real purse". I can't laugh too hard though, I think the lining makes the bag a "real purse".

What a great bag for a toddler...just like a big persons purse. I like to give the grand kids old store cards or casino cards that they pretend are credit cards. Old keys, old phones, chapstick, combs and even some play money make it seem even more real.
