BEAUTIFUL pictures of these cathedral afghans....where are you all finding this fabulous pattern? Never seen anything like it, the first one (blue one) at the beginning of the post really looks like a window in icy blue, all the others are equally fabulous.

Looking very good sis, love the colors you choose, cant wait to see it done.

Ok here is the updated photo of mine

How hard is this? It looks sike ALOT of color changes... I may try this after my lace and bobbles if yall can give me a heads up on how hard it is.....

Its not as hard as i thought it would be,the stitches are pretty easy and its lots of fun watching it come together.

I have been working on this when i should have been working on my lace and bobbles :blush

It's not hard,... but it is a lot of color changes.

To the person who's asking where we find the pattern. It's supposed to be republished later this year (as in fall 2006 or early 2007), otherwise I'm guessing people are hitting ebay or used bookstores or just getting darn lucky. I was a recipient of a RAOK for mine.

I got permission from Gail (the lady who wrote to Annie's and got a reply) to post this email.

received on 11-21-05 from Annie's Attic rep. Marj Morgan

Good morning Gail,

Thank you for your inquiry to Pattern Services. We appreciate your interest in the pattern in Award-Winning Afghans #878301.

We are working on getting the patterns in the pattern book redone and printed in an updated pattern collection for future sales. We expect it will take us a year or more to get the publications ready.

Sincerely,

Marj Morgan

***Thanks for posting this***Good to know their working on it. Wonder why it would take so long, and why when it's such a good pattern would it have gone out of print so easily and quickly?? Anyone know how that all works? Most of my patterns, and those carried here in local stores tend to be Leisure Arts, I don't know that I have any of Annie's. On another forum there's been a lot of discussion about copyright, and their pattern of the day. I've only looked a couple of times, but they weren't patterns I particularly liked or would use. Someone mentioned you find them by the date, but I can't see how or where to do that. One of you with younger eyes take a look and see what you think ...please and thanks.

I went thru the entire thread, & got the url's for all the pix of the projects so far, so it'll be easier maybe to pick out what color combo's you would like, or to see what is involved a little bit... there were a lot of pix that the links don't work anymore, but here is the list.

Tween, that was cool of you todo that. I had only seen some of the pics. And now I'm rushing to write a check for $750.00...oh heck maybe 2 checks :eek :eek OMG. Fun to see the colors folks have chosen. When finished are they are 9 feet, or was that just the 750.00 one?

I think the $750 one has a few extra rounds to make it that big. There are points around the outside that I don't think are on the pattern we are working on, and maybe a few more rows...I haven't sat down and compared row by row, but that was the impression I got when I looked at it a while back...

I thought I had lost this pattern forever! Several years back, we had pipes burst in the house. I was out of town and my husband told me all the crochet books got it. I told him to toss them.. I wasn't going to be back fast enough to try to see if they could be saved and he had his hands full cleaning. Today; I was going through a box... That I had stashed in the back of the closet of things. Guess what was in the box!!!!!!! This pattern!

The book is in a place where I can see it all the time now. :D

Amazing what can change a very rainy day to a very sunny day.

I have made a committment to crochet non-stop over the weekend... (I have nothing planned but crochet and movies, :dancebut my dh will be gone for the weekend:sigh , but that will give me uninterrupted crochet time:woo )

So, I will be working on this afghan again! Hope to have progress to report on Sunday!

:clapLucky you Diane! What I wouldn't give for a weekend like that! It's usually Grand Central Station around here on weekends, but that's life and most times I like it...just ready for a little break I guess!:lol I'm hoping to get started on this project in the next couple of weeks but it will probably be more like 3 or 4, got a baby afghan and dress for a friend of my son to finish! What I've seen so far from the pics posted here I really like! Everyones looks beautiful! Good job to all! Have a happy hookin' weekend Diane!

I started mine a few days ago. I have the first section finished and am ready to start working on the second. Wanted to work on it tonight but we were watching a movie, and my DH and BIL wanted to have the lights off. I usually get to crochet, so it was their turn for a real movie atmosphere.

I am really enjoying the project and can't wait to see the finished results!

Thanks for the encouraging words, Shaylen and Theresa. :) My husband has a yearly weekend away and I usually use the time to do a thorough after holiday cleaning - but not this time. I decided to give myself a crochet weekend. I hope you get to have time to yourself sometime. Even when you have a busy life you love, it's so nice to have some quiet time to yourself - even if it is just to re-affirm how much you love that busy time with family. I'll be looking for you to join us Theresa.

Badrhinogillett - isn't it an odd feeling when you can't crochet when you watch TV? I am so used to having something to work on, I feel sort of weird when my hands are idle when I am watching.

See you all with my REPORT on Sunday. I find, I really have to stay offline if I want to devote time to crochet.

O.k. just need to whine for a moment... I'm on round 10 of the second section, and I am about to rip out the row for the second time! My stich count is correct, but somewhere I've completely messed up, as my columns are now 2 stiches off... I'll figure this out (and not try to correct it in the semi-dark while watching a movie might help!), but it makes me so frustrated. grrrrrrrr
