Barefoot sandals

Lately I've been making alot of barefoot sandals. I've given away a ton of them to friends and family, and now I've been selling a few too. When my husband found out how much money I was spending every week on them he freaked and said I had to sell enouph to break even, or I couldn't give them away anymore.

Sorry I don't have a blog so here is the picture of the 3 I have been making for the 4th of July. I've gotten bored of making the same old pattern, so I have been experimenting.

I started off using this pattern.

http://www.lewiscraft.ca/project01.php?innum=2380 a basic change is to do more than 6 beads...do six on each side. Thats what I did the first time I changed it and then I just tweaked them again and again, untill I found styles that I liked. I try to do something different every week. I was spending a fortune on the thread, untill I finally found a place online that sold it by the pound. My husband was getting mad when he found out I was spending $35+ a week. Thats when he made me start selling them. I've sold quite a few locally, but they aren't doing very well on ebay. There are alot of very pretty ones there, that are just bead work, with no crochet. I personally think they will break easily, The crochet just seem so much stronger.

Those are great!!! I had a spell where I was making tons of them too and giving them away until it became such a chore as so many people kept requesting them (for free). It became a job and I don't do jobs well. So I quit but have been wanting to start again as gifts & things.
