Buggie: If you go to "thread crochet", look for the "1948 workbasket potholder " that I submitted; it has a thread to my formula for the grid, etc.; and has other info. I use a size 30 crochet cotton, size 8 steel hook for grid, and size 14 steel hook for the squigglies. Hope this helps. D

They look great! You did a great job on duplicating this.

Here's a Crochetville CAL for these: Squiggly-Wiggly CAL check out the super cute designs!

and some patterns on the web too:

http://www.craftyarncouncil.com/projects/july99_crochet_2.html

is one that is similar with a graph and pattern. This one is done in WW cotton and a size G hook.

http://www.angelfire.com/oh/crochethook/patts/hotpad.html

is another one that's similar.

Those both look terrific. I wonder if my great-grandchildren will someday say, "I have this old potholder my Gram made..." ????

I have no grandchildren, let alone great-grandchildren, at present. My oldest is only 17!

Thanks, Karen!! I need photograpy skills!! I have a question for you: Your picture.... is that one of your crochet projects? It's beautiful. I'd like to see a close-up of that particular pattern! By the way, I posted a new thread to my original with the formulas for different grid sizes. Thanks for the encouragement!! D.

My avatar is a Bruges lace doily I made last summer. There are a couple of better pictures here, and I blogged about it here, so you can see how it was made.

I live in Poland, and like much of what I do, this pattern (graphed!) came from one of my Polish crochet magazines.

There's a book on 'wiggle crochet'? What is it called? I'd love to know. I'm hoping to acquire a 1948 Workbasket with the original pattern in it, but would also like to know about this 'wiggle crochet' book!!!! Thanks for the response! D.

Great job!

Your name caught my eye. My stepmom always called herself Mama Dee!

Where are you from? I am in northern Alabama. Welcome to Crochetville!
