"freestyle" heart

Before Valentine's Day, I wanted to make a lacy heart that would hang on the wall or over a doorknob. I couldn't find a pattern that really fit my mental image so I decided to use ideas from freeform to make up a design. (Since there are no scrumbles in it I hesitate to use the term freeform for it...but I don't know whether terminology really matters anyway:lol when talking about something that is supposed to be free.) I drew a heart on paper and started crocheting in sort of an Irish crochet style to fill in the shape. I should have sewn my separate elements, like the flower shape and leaf shape, to cloth; it would have been easier to fill in and have it lie flat that way I think.
