OMG...I am so frustrated! I have been working on a ripple afghan since March and its not even a huge one (its for my niece for Christmas) and I have seemed to stall out. I walk past it every day but I can't seem to pick it up again...maybe its because its summer. I don't know. Does anyone else have this problem?

I know I sure do!!! If you're talking about the pink/lilac/white ripple in your flickr photos,,, :yayIT"S GOING TO BE A BEAUTY!! Every time I'm doing an afghan about 1/3 of the way in I start exactly what you're talking about:eek,,,, what helps me some is to put a bobby pin where I'm at so every few rows I can see I'm making progress.

You have some handsome afghans in your photos,,I like the Red Afghan and all the ripples oh and the Flannelghan:yes

You can do it:cheer

What helped me was when I joined A Row a day CAL, here on the ville. Krystal keeps a count of what row you should be at each day and gives stars ( think unhappy faces from school) if you don't check in. It keeps me accountable for my work. I know I can do at least 1 row a day.

Ya cool. I am doing October from "A Year of Q-Hook Afgans" cause I want something that well use a lot of yarn and work up really fast. Q hook is what I learned on and the first year I made 7 afghans.

I am using white, yellow and green for the colors. This well get a good start of using up my 13 garbage bags full of yarn. lol

I would love to join if this is still open! I just started my first ever ripple for my one-year-old daughter. I'm using White, Mint Green & Blue Bernat's Baby. I thought I'd stick with something easy - a basic peephole ripple. I've just started my first row, sooo....I hope to post some pictures soon!

To get the guage anywhere near right I am using a P hook. Still working up fast. Got 9 rows done last night.

I dug out my fan and I am ready. Hubby also made me a table/board to go across the arms of my chair so that the afghan can rest on that and not me.

Hope that works out.

Hehe ya my name is right. A P hook makes anything go faster. I really like working with the bigger hooks. N and above are great for me to work up stuff quicker.

I was gonna say ,,you must crochet very tight but then I saw you were using a pattern from a Q hook book ,, so I didn't say it earlier.

I tend to crochet so loose,, :eekI get on my own nerves.

Tension is not my friend. :lol

Angie,

Thank you! It's for my daughter - who is also named Angie! I have a feeling I'm going to be in this one for the long haul because I'm using baby yarn for a standard sized afghan (about 52" X 70") and a smaller hook than I usually use. I tend to use a bigger hook than is recommended, but it looked too loose and sloppy when I did a sample swatch. So.....I think I'm going to have to do smaller projects in between to keep my sanity. That's part of the reason I'm here....so I can be a bit accountable for my progress.

I know what you mean. I said something to my husband about going ahead and starting the baby blanket and he got all weird.

"No you better finish what you started first or put up that jigsaw puzzle."

And this was from a man that rarely finishes anything around the house. Silly man.

I am doing well but I did not do much of anything else all day yesterday. So still going really slow.
