Are We doing anything for Valentine's Day CAL

I love both of those games! I really need to find someone to make those for. That is a great idea. The two color idea is smart - young kids do have some trouble with shapes. Darski, I think yours looks wonderful! I like the hearts at the top and that you personalized it. What a neat gift for a child!

Here's what it looks like with the 2 extra rows, I like the look of it with the "break" the mesh gives to the pattern. I think I might just add that beading to weigh it down so it will lie flat, I was hoping the blocking would fix it but it's still a little "ruffly".

I just love that heart ! It's just beautiful. You're all very inspiring. I'm getting in on this CAL. I'd love to work with some red/pink/white combos and HEARTS :manyheart:manyheart:manyheart

Gee, I had no idea those ditty bags were that small. I guess they would work for a doll's purse then. Thank you for telling me the size.

Debby

Hi Debby,

I have made these Ditty Bags before, and used 2 strands of 4 ply yarn, like 2 strands of red heart. They turned out a nicer size, I followed the pattern exactly, and they were stiffer also. Worked perfect.

Aw shucks, thanks! I'm jealous of where you live. :lol I lived in Hawaii in the '60's when I was in grade school...I don't miss the bugs but I could use some warmth right now!!

Hmmm...I'll admit the lack of real winter is nice. Although, it still feels cold after being used to warmer temps the rest of the year. I'll be glad when we move back to the mainland though. Hawaii's not a bad place to live, but it's so far from everyone else we know. And yeah, the bugs....

I was thinking that Annie's pattern for today although in lavender and having roses instead of hearts, might be a pretty Valentine's gift ro at least a project for those of us who can do thread work.

In either a pretty pink or a dark red colour :dreaming ... I love dark red roses.

I love the pattern too, but being new to thread it is way too big for me to tackle right now. I'd love to see it if anyone else works one up though.

I am almost finished with a Valentines baby dress I've been working on. I ran out of the off-white yarn I've been using for the bodice, so I still have the sleeves to do. I'm going to pick up some more of the yarn and some buttons tonight. I also worked up a small hand-bag in red and white for V-day. I should have pix tomorrow. :)

. . .last year's Valentine Mystery CAL?

I followed along, and ended up with a great pink & white washcloth using Bernat's Cottontots (one of my favorite :manyheart yarns for washcloths).

Best of all, you don't have to wait for new posts!

those mystery CAL's were a great intro to charted work. I did the Christmas tree. it was fun and you are right that it is great when it is finished and you just sail right through.

i should maybe try a washcloth when I get some cotton.
