I love everyone's projects; they're so lovely!! :)h I can't wait to see the completed bear!

I'm making a table runner called "Floral Carpet" from an old Magic Crochet mag (Feb 1994). I'm using Royale Classic size 10 thread in various shades of yellow with variegated green for the edging, size 0 steel hook. It will look like a patch of marigolds. So far I have 8 white motifs done so it's going kinda slow. In the mean time I took a break and made a couple of bookmarks:

They're from the "Three Dozen and One Bookmarks", except the corner bookmark is only 7 rows and I used an earring which lost its pair for the tassle. They're made of Royale Classic size 10 thread using size 7 steel hook. Making bookmarks is sort of my crochet instant gratification. :D!

Thanks for the encouragement, Chie, I might need it! Your doily is beautiful, I'm so impressed as always. :heart

Love your bookmarks, Elizabeth, that is the best book for bookmarks! :clap

Thank you Anna, Julie, and Elizabeth!

Hearts Doily was easy to make, but I thought it's perfect for upcoming Valentine's Day. :)h I have a couple more great doily patterns which I can hardly wait to make! I ordered some thread on the internet, and I have been anxiously waiting for the thread to get here since. :hyper

Elizabeth, I love your bookmarks! It's nice that you put the earing on one of them. I want the book so bad now! :wowdrool

I am so ready to be finished with my thread project. I only have 2 rounds to go! The other day I was working on it and could not figure out what I was doing wrong. So I stopped mid-round. I picked it up again last night and decided to start the row over as I still could not figure out what I was doing. As I started it over I realized what I did wrong and was able to finish the round. Well I then started on the next to last round and realized that instead of 3trc I did 2trc. Once again I took out the ENTIRE round! I started on it again and was able to finish it. I have realized that I CANNOT watch TV while working on these patterns as I get easily distracted. So basically with the time I spent last night I could have probably finished the darn thing but ended up spending a couple of hours on just one round! Of course this has not stopped me from trying to find my next thread project. LOL!

One question I do have. My doily ruffles. Is it supposed to ruffle? How do I block it? Do I have to use starch? Do I just iron the back?

Thanks,

Me again. I was wondering if anyone has seen any doilies that would be in a Southwestern type pattern? I am thinking if I make something square and a dark green (or other dark color) it could work. Any ideas?

Thanks,

I am done! I am finished with my first project. Yay~

Sorry it is so dark. When I tried to take the photo inside the flash would make the detail disapear. I took the photo outside but it still came out dark.

The pattern is called Bounty.

Dawn -

Thank you so much! :))

Oh Dawn, I think your doilies are very, very beautiful! :)h

The Rosebud Doily is really so easy to make. I'd say it's beginner level project because really, I didn't do anything complicated to make it.

I just have to say that the designer did such a great job coming up with the beautiful doily pattern like that!

All of my wonderful and inspiraing crochet buddies just like yourself really keep me going. :hug
