Finished a bookmark last night and blocked it. It's the shamrock from the annie's attic pamphlet of 3 Dozen & One Bookmarks. It's a shamrock but I worked it with a 1.80mm hook in red #10 Coats Royale because... I don't have any green thread!

I loved it! It was a lot of fun and I can't wait to start more thread projects!

Hey, there are red shamrocks too, it looks great!! :clap

I'm six rows short of finishing the doily for my mom. Hopefully I'll have it done by the end of the week (I'm usually only working on it one day each week.). Actually, I'm sure I won't be able to stand it and will get it done this week, I'll be too close to finished otherwise. :hyper

Well I have 2 more rounds to do on my doily...but I'm not looking forward to the last round it looks like it has a ZILLION picots on it :bang

My DH was out shopping last night and picked up all the thread for the tablecloth so I'm going to be starting on that this week..... it will be in my wip bag for the next couple of months (247 squares)

The red shamrock bookmark is very nice! :)h

I see some of you are almost finished with projects, I can hardly wait to see them! :hyper

Vims, the motif is beautiful!!! :)h I've never seen one like that before. I can already tell the finished work will be nice!

I have a quick question...

Can I post any thread projects other than doily on the Thread CAL gallery??? :thinking2

The bookmark is making me want to :bang so I'm moving along to the beaded shawl, which I really need to get finished anyway.

Oh, dang. I was going to link to the pattern I'm using to show you all, but the link is broken now. It's the one that used to be up at www.crochetmagazine.com in their free patterns section, but it was listed under March I think, and now that section only goes back to may. Guess I'd better get in the habit of saving or printing anything I like from their free patterns section instead of just bookmarking!

Anyway, it's done in a fishnet-looking mesh pattern, with #10 thread and beads at the intersections of the mesh, and I think it'll be really pretty when it's done if I can convince it to lay flat :lol

I plan to get back to the bookmark after that, especially since hubby put in some brighter lighting in our bedroom, which is where I was working on the bookmark, and I think the less-than-great lighting we had in there before was half my problem--what with the #30 thread and the lighting I couldn't see what I was doing. (But the pattern is really complicated and I definitely kept doing something wrong...)

Chie - no problem! It doesn't just have to be a doily. And we didn't limit ourselves to just one project for the CAL. I personally have another doily planned for the CAL, I've just been pre-occupied with the other cool yarns and projects I've started on the last couple of weeks. :)

Post away! :)h

Thanks Chie! Yes the finished piece is what keeps me going even though I hate working with motifs!!!!

Thanks Julie! I can only find thread here in india as its too hot to want to crochet with yarn. The thread is a sparkly mettalic thread which was introduced recently here and I had to grab all the colours they had. You should have seen the guy at the shop he is like"for what project do you want all these?" little does he know that I collect thread :rotfl

the thread is a size 20 ! and comes only in 20 gms:(

Thanks for all the nice compliments about the motif I picked for the tablecloth , make sure to ask every now and then to see how many squares I have done ...... you'll be my official cheering section so I don't go into a major slump

:cheer2 :cheer2 :D!

Chie ....

How neat your sister having the same name, is Yumi a common Japanese name? Yumi has already been to our house 3 times (she's come here with my son when he was home on leave) As soon as she walked in the door the first time I knew that she would fit right in with our family even though she couldn't really speak English it was in her smile and the twinkle in her eyes. Her and my daughter are really close I think it's because they were both really nervous and shy when Yumi first meet us they would cuddle and draw lots of pictures with words under them :D! We've only been emailing each other for about 7 months and boy can you tell her English is getting really good. Thanks for the offer of helping her out when she's here that's soooo nice of you I'll let her know that your there if she needs anything :D!

Dawn

Too funny :yay2

Hugs & Happy Crocheting,

Michele

I wish I had a camera to show off the filet tablecloth I made my brother and his girl for their wedding. :cloud9 The chart was a full 8X11 page, and that was only 1/4 of the entire chart.:U It's a book I got years ago. 5 or 6 large tablecloths in filet, which I LOVE :)h to do! I have made 3 of them. :bang

If anyone has questions about filet or thread, I would be happy to help if I can, thread is my passion! :rock
