Julie -

Thank you! :)) I'm happy to know that you like my new doily too! I've been working on next thread project already. It's not doily this time. But I'm thinking about getting a little break from thread... Maybe I'll make 1 yarn project, then go back to thread again! :D!

Evelyn -

I can't wait to see your finished doily! :)

I'm being a bad hostess.

:welcome Evelyn! No cost, no obligation, just fun! :))

If you'll go to this blog entry, and leave a message with your email address and your blog url, I'll add you to the links and to the Gallery users so you can upload your finished project to the Gallery. Which reminds me.....I have another member to do that for. :thinking1 Ooops...

Thank you for the wonderful comments on my doily. I am very happy I finally finished it. I have it put on a shelf and cannot stop looking at it. LOL!

I have finally decided on my next project. It appears to be quite detailed and the special stitches seem weird but I am sure I can do it......quick question though. as I am not familar with the steel thread hooks. Is a size 6 bigger or smaller than a size 7?

Thanks,

The larger the number the smaller the hook. A size 0 is bigger than a size 10. Size 10s scare the you know what out of me so mine is still in the package. But I have one, does that count? :wink

Ok I started something else with out having finished the 1st thread project, but I got yelled at by my mom. I have been gathering remnant pieces of fleece to do crochet borders on . I got this bright yellow and then found this varigated rainbow and I just love it! it has one more round to go, but it goes really fast after the holes are measured and punched(I hate that part!) I'm doing them for Project Linus and my mom is after me to get them done so we can take all the ones she's made too.threadborder.jpg

Lanette -

That is gorgeous! I would never have thought of doing something like that. :)

Evelyn - Nope, it doesn't matter. If you would like a Gallery Username, just send me (either via ezinbox or a comment on the blog post) your email address and I'll go ahead and create that for you. :)

Thanks! I just used a size 12 steel hook. I inherited all my grandmother's hooks a long time ago and there are 3 or4 of several sizes, so I just took the one that looked the worst( I don't want to ruin the ones I don't have to, she died when I was 6. It feels like she's guiding me along when I use them!)

Of course as I went along, Ihad to make some of the holes larger, but it worked out ok.

Finished! This worked up really easy! It was much easier on my poor hand and wrist after I got a cushion for the hook(it's a size 6 steel)2threadborder.jpg

I really like it. This will go in the basket for Project Linus. But I think I also want to try it on some simple cotton capri pants for my daughter for the spring!:ducky

well.........my CAL got cut and tossed...it was that messed up (yes i know a waste of yarn....until it knotted 5 times trying to back up) SOOoooo I'm starting it over in size 20 white and i'm getting rid of those DARN lacet stitches cause they just ain't right (caused the whole pattern to be off for me) and i'm just doing the plain border darn it. LOL the link is at www.crochetpatterncentral.com Under filet the title is Eagle (not small eagle) So i'm back at square one so to speak :blush

I have 6 rows left to do on my doily, It is pretty I think. It is white pineapples a pattern I got off the internet.

I am probably the only one who will get to see it though, as I dont know enough about the computer to put a picture on, I have been trying and it just doesnt work.

It has been fun making it though.

I will just be content to look at everyone elses work.

You all do a really nice job.

You need to count me out on the crochet a long,

Evelyn

Aw Sherrie! :( Sorry to hear that it wasn't working out. On the other hand, you've got experience at the pattern now, so it should be a little easier the second time around!

Evelyn - you don't have to quit! We can help you figure out how to post the photo. And even if you can't post, you can still participate!

Lanette, those cushions for the steel hooks are the bomb!!:danc I couldn't do to much thread crochet at one sitting because the hook hurt my hand, but with that cushion, What a difference! Highly recommended, if you don't already use one.

Evelyn: please don't drop out. :camera We'll help you! If nothing else, get in touch with your jr. high school side and describe in detail all the lovely work your hands have done:blah .

Okay okay... assuming it's not too late, I think I am going to join this CAL! I want to try a bookmark, though I am a little scared.

Haven't picked a pattern yet, so if anyone has any suggestions for an easier bookmark, that would be great (though I might pick up an LA bookmark pamphlet today so I can start tonight)!
