My Oh, My....

I need to stop before I go crazy - but I'm going to join this, too - that is, if you'll have me. I've recently made two bags - one from Lion Chenille and another with the fulling process....but the urge has struck again.

I'd like to do the "Jaunty Shells" from the American School of Needlework "Trendsetting Totes".

I've chosen RH yarn - Farmland and Ranch Red (mc)....should be pretty for fall...

I'm trying to get active again both on crochetville & my blog, so can I join too? I just love bags. I'm addicted to them, even if I wasn't the one that made it. Last month I got 3 bags at an auction, two were crocheted & one was macramed :) . I'm trying to design a bag based on one of the purses I got at the auction, but bigger.

I'm thinking about designing my own purse too.

Julie, thanks for moving my post to the correct place.

I did get the pattern from Marlo's site. It is the Country Market Felted Bag.

It was easy to crochet, and I pulled an all nighter to crochet and felt it, but it was worth it, and I plan to make another one soon. I have three sisters, and I think that'll make great Christmas presents.

It will, Vera, perfect Christmas gifts. And it is just the color I want, I think.

yes, it was a gift... my son's afternoon sitter. kinda a weird story, my kids' schools are about 25 minutes apart, instead of making him wait at his school for me for that long, he goes home with a friend of mine that has twin girls in his grade... she is a single mom-attorney, and so has a nanny, it was for her. she loved it so much went and bought herself a pink pleather jacket that evening to match :clap

But I didn't. Here's one of the bags I've done lately. I still need to line it but I was in a hurry to give it to my daughter for her birthday. It's my own design, still have to write down the pattern though.

Thanks! lol, the color is a little off in the picture, it's not really blue, it's a pretty lavender. My baby adores anything purple so the majority of her clothes and stuff are in shades of it.

I love seeing all the bags! :)h

I have been in a slump. :help It seems like I just can't finish any projects. :th

:kick to myself, and I am joining this CAL. :)) I've already picked out a pattern, which is one of Japanese patterns, and I crocheted a few rows. I'll post a progress pics later.

It's in the BAG!!! My first "official" bag for the Bag Along...

I used the Jaunty Shells pattern from LA Trendsetting Totes...size G hook...RH Yarn - Farmland and Ranch Red...

Are there more in the works? We shall see...

Oh Gosh!I'm filled with tickles! Thanks for all the wonderful comments. This bag is super easy and fun - lots of color potential. I got the pattern from a Leisure Arts book - I think it was Hobby Lobby during one of their 1/2 instructional books sales. I think they still carry them, too. It's not really that old - at least not to me. The pattern gauge says 12 1/2" tall without the handles and 10 1/2" wide. However GAUGE and I are not on speaking terms (we were never friends anyways) and mine isn't quite 10" wide and it's only 9" tall not including the straps. The strap adds about another 13 1/2" to the length. Now if you fill it full of all the junk we "need" to carry, I imagine it would stretch - but I made this very tightly as to avoid that...i hope i hope i hope....

The talented crocheter could probably even rig up some kind of closure - but I don't mind it gaping open that much.

I made a plastic bag keeper - does it count? I mean, it's a bag, and it holds bags...well - I won't be devastated if it doesn't - but here it is anyways!

I used Sugar 'n Cream yarn - Sage Green and Countryside Ombre, modified the pattern from Bernat's Daisy Days book and attached a flower from Dot.

Now to go and stuff it and hang it somewhere!!!
