Bag Along

Awesome! I am so glad so many people are "Bagging it!"

Here's my first bag--P8050012.jpg

It's from generic white with grey flecks cotton from walmart, and the pattern is a freebie which I can't re-find. :irked It's a little floppy, and a little too short on the walls (I was running out of yarn), so I think it will be perfect for a "project" bag rather than a purse. It's about 10" across and 8" tall.

I'm making another bag now (the summer sling) out of fall yarns, so I guess it will be a fall sling!

Ok, I updated the bag along gallery, but for some reason the pictures aren't showing up in it. I will try to fix it on Monday (I don't see anything wrong with the coding now), but I wanted to let everybody know I knew they were missing (get it?) :huh

Anyhoo, keep sending your info to me, and I will add it!!

Despite some major wrist pain, I completed one of 3 parts of my bag today. :bow Still have the other side and the handle to do.

Michelle, I couldn't see any of the photos in the gallery. Did they perhaps get moved? (and now have a different 'address')?

Happy crocheting all!

Stephanie

Hi! I haven't been over here in a while (shame, shame I know...) and I just saw the bag-along button on someones site and got all excited-- Can I still join? I see that there are so many people done already and I am hoping I'm not too late!

Hi there,

I am ready to join up...still room? I want to make a bag and felt it so I've been reading up in the felting area, too.

Is that cool? And I'll probably be making up my own pattern cause I have an idea for the shape but may buy handles.

Let me know, ok?

Thanks!

I still have to put in a lining, it's gonna be a small project tote.

I finally started my bag. It is just something I am making up as I go along. I estimate that I am about 1/3 done. I will be sure to post a picture when I am done.

I know I'm not apart of the group, but I can be of some help, or so I hope...

The pattern for shelbyro's bag can be found under Darice Crocheted Bags. The actual page on the site seems to be gone.

Hi everybody,

I had not been here for awhile because I was called in to substitute for a teacher in my kids school! I find that you have been having tons of fun doing the "bag-along" . I wish to join you all as soon as I have picked out a pattern to do (easier said than done lol).

Hugs

PS : what is Boning? I think I saw it being mentioned in Rebecca's post.:bounce

hmmm, how do you explain boning.....

you know how bustier (oh my, did i spell that right?) -- lingerie--- is sometimes made with a long straight piece of plastic sewn in vertically? that's boning.

kinda like (KINDA) the underwire in a bra - but it is straight (not in the U shape) - it is made from plastic, pretty rigid, but still flexible... you can actually buy it in different flex - a little or hardly any......

does that make any sense at all?:thinking1

pfirsch Thanks for finding that Darice link for me! I will update the Bagalong Gallery!

I have been working on the summer sling bag, and here is the picture of the pieces, before I joined them last night:

Once joined, I am not sure I am too crazy about this bag--the handle's too long, and the bag is smaller than I thought it would be, but I will chalk it up to experience and possibly try another pattern. So far I am not that keen on either of my bags.

I will post a finished pix on the gallery soon.

I FINALLY got my bag done today!!

I had made the whole thing weeks ago and have been too chicken to felt the darn thing and finally got around to it now that the kiddos are back in school and I love it. Marlo has great patterns and I can't wait to try another!

Becky, Your bag is gorgeous. What yarn did you use?

I really want to try felting. I am so chicken though... (yes, I know it's a frog... but there is no chicken in the smiley bin. haha)
