    Seeking Potholder Pattern

I am going to make a set of potholders for a male friend and I was wondering anybody had any suggestions. I usually make the Viennese Potholder, but I wanted to try something different this time. There are only two requirements: 1) it must be functional; and of course, 2) man-friendly Lay on the links!
  4. I live in Trenton, which is close to New Bern, Jacksonville, and Kinston. Now that I've moved back home, I would love to have some crafty friends to meet up with every so often to crochet, chat, or whatever strikes our fancy. Anyone interested? Is there already a group that I don't know about? Tell me what you think.
  5. Good idea. Maybe after Thanksgiving...

    Calling all NC crocheters!

I'm in Trenton, between Kinston and New Bern.
  7. For people who want to try making buttons: How to make your own 88 x 31 button I'm sure there are some other ones online, but for now, I'll just post this one.
  8. **I wasn't sure where to post this** There is a poll at Berroco asking if you primarily knit, primarily crochet, or do both equally. I think that it's important that more people take part in the poll if we want them to put more effort into creating good crochet patterns. When I took it, the number of crocheters was less than 8%. Do you crochet?
  9. Ken, aka That Crochet Guy, has published his Cable Tote Bag pattern. Take a look!

    Berroco wants to know

**Also posted in Crochet Happenings and Events. I would like to get as many people to participate as possible; so, I'm posting here, too, since I can't move the other thread.** There is a poll at Berroco asking if you primarily knit, primarily crochet, or do both equally. I think that it's important that more people take part in the poll if we want them to put more effort into creating good crochet patterns. When I took it, the number of crocheters was less than 8%. Crocheted Icelandic style cardigan?

I own that book, too! I also haven't made anything from it The Icelandic-type cardigans in it look just like the knit versions. Maybe you can get a copy from your local library.

Click "Do you crochet?" in my original post. That should take you straight there.

    Crochet Pattern Central....What's up?

Well, I thought it was just me; good to know I'm not alone. I use Linux and Firefox. This is the error I got: I've even tried Opera and Konqueror and still nothing. This is what Opera had to say: Can anybody make any sense out of any of this?

Knit out and crochet too Boston

Well, I read Trish's E-mail on her blog and she pretty much hit the nail on the head. There were some women behind us cracking up at how badly the fashion show was going and pretty much verbalizing what I was thinking. Since when does Wool-Ease felt? I mean, really. My friend and I thought that the fastest knitter and fastest hooker contests were terrible and she came specifically to see that! The MC definitely needs to be more on the ball. I think I would go again, but I wouldn't stay for very long unless I knew that I was going to meet up with people. It was very cool meeting Nadine and finding out that she's also at Crochetville and hanging out with my friend who I hadn't seen in a while since she had moved to Boston. The rest was so-so. We should plan our own crochet get together.

Well, I thought I had replied, but apparently, I hadn't. I think it would have been more fun if I had known about this thread before I went. I did get to meet Nadine though.

    Crocheted Thong Sandals

I saw a link to a pair of flip-flop type sandals on another board, and I thought of passing the link on to y'all. I hope I'm not repeating anybody. *To be completely honest, whenever I see the word "thong," I still automatically think "undies."*
